After visiting The Sea Search (a planned community on the Northern California Coast) almost every year for 30 years, in 2017, my wife and I purchased a 0.4 acre lot on the ocean side of Highway One and began to search for a local architect to design our new home. We chose Steven Steinberg because he demonstrated both competency and experience and also because he was very attentive to our specific needs and budget. Steven was also very experienced working through the maze of the design review and approval process required to build at The Sea Ranch.

Steven came up with a design which perfectly integrated with the natural features of our lot and which met our space and comfort needs. Steven is very attentive to details and also took “ownership” of the process which helped tremendously.

My General Contractor was extremely pleased with the level of detail in the final plans.

Steven was our architect for a master suite addition on our home at The Sea Ranch.  Steven was able to rapidly turn our vague ideas into workable plans that more than met our desires.  He improved on our ideas and showed us things we didn’t even know were possible.  His conceptual drawings brought the project to life in beautiful images that we could easily understand.  This alone would have been enough but he was so much more.  Steven had a deep understanding of all the intricacies involved in completing a project at The Sea Ranch.  He knew how to navigate the various bureaucracies, he knows how to manage the costs, and put together remarkably accurate budget numbers.   When it came time to get approvals, he was right there, helping and guiding us through each step.  Steven went far above and beyond typical architect duties, he acted as a liaison with all the parties involved.  A lesser architect would have put all that back onto us – a job we were ill-equipped to handle.

Steven was more than an architect for us; he was our trusted advisor through the entire process.  I would not hesitate to recommend him to friends and family.
